111 Online

111 Online launched across Thames Valley on 31 July 2018 to enhance public access to integrated urgent care.  This service will allow patients to access an online version of the triage tool NHS Pathways, which is used within the 111 telephony service.

By entering their symptoms and answering a series of questions relating to their condition, patients will be advised as to the most appropriate service to meet their needs, the time frame within which contact should be made and will be given worsening advise.  Where clinically appropriate, patients will be encouraged to self-care.  Patients recommended to contact in hours primary care will be asked to do so in their normal fashion.

For those patients that would benefit from a call back from a clinician, their details can be passed electronically to the Integrated Urgent Care service for a suitable clinician to do so; clinicians working within the IUC include nurses, GPs, mental health professional, dental nurses and pharmacists.  In the future this call back facility will be extended to the Out of Hours services across Thames Valley.
